Beef Brisket Recipe

Beef Brisket
10-12 servings

1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 3/4 tsp kosher salt
2 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

5-6 lb. beef brisket, trimmed
1/3 c. sugar
1 c. BBQ sauce
1 c. Russian salad dressing

Combine first 5 ingredients.  Rub into beef.  Tightly wrap beef in heavy aluminum foil (fat side up).  Place in ungreased 13 x 9 baking pan.  Bake 300 degrees for 5 hours.  Carefully remove foil from beef; set beef aside.

Measure 1 cup of the broth.  Discard any remaining broth.  Return brisket to baking pan.  Mix together 1 c. broth, sugar, bbq sauce, and the dressing.  Pour over brisket.  Bake covered at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake 30 minutes more.  Serve with sauce.

  1. Yummy! Slow cooking brisket in the oven is my favorite way to do it. I'm going to try this recipe. The Russian salad dressing sounds interesting. Perfect for a cool fall day. :)

  4. Do you wrap the beef or just cover it in the pan? If you wrap the beef, where do all the juices go? Want to make this. Help!

  6. I'm slightly confused...what is the 'broth'? Is this the juice from the pan after the meat has cooked?

  7. Very good. I did it at a very low temp (150-200) for 10-12 hrs. Then last hour I did follow the recipe. Everything was very good. I did trim it pretty good, next time i might not go so drastic...lol.
